Our Story:

The Beginning

I'd been doing art shows for 10 years when I felt the need to expand my work beyond painting. So I decided to create jewelry as a way of augmenting my income as an artist. The jewelry evolved over time rather slowly, since I had no training as a jeweler and I didn't actually wear jewelry. My early pieces were pretty awful but it was the 80s and everything we wore was awful. So what began as an economic necessity became a passion for me. I really enjoyed the process of designing and creating something to wear that expressed my personality and I enjoyed the attention to color and detail that was so important in creating a unique style of jewelry.

The Partnership

The jewelry really took off when I started working full-time with my husband Garry Giordano. Garry developed the process of bonding my hand-painted fabrics onto a durable substrate which created a waterproof protection, so the jewelry was impervious to the weather. I am the artist and my husband is the technical support that truly facilitated the development of our jewelry line. With technical skill that go beyond the jeweler's table, his input into my craft is immeasurable.

The vintage photo is of Garry helping to install the "Surrounded Islands' artwork by Christo in Biscayne Bay, Miami in 1983.

A creative life

Garry and I were living in Miami in 1992 when hurricane Andrew resulted in the loss of Garry's job when his building was destroyed. At the time I was seven months pregnant so we decided to work together. We collaborated And worked hard to create lightweight durable and fun jewelry. We were also full-time parents to Zach (our greatest creation). He has always had my back and I feel very fortunate to have a partner like Garry. One of our friends called him an Angel but I’m not willing to go that far! Let’s just say I’m blessed to have him for a husband!  He’s also the best roadie a street artist could have asked for.
